sudden no start, anti-theft light on

I’ve got a 2014 Jeep Compass Sprt 4wd that has been the worst car I’ve had. It just stopped working one day, crank no start. Fuel pump engaged with ignition, injectors fed correctly. Just no start.

I took to a Jeep dealer and after looking for a hour they said they had no idea. Brought home and started on it myself.

When I got the car back from the mechanic, somehow now the car doesn’t get power to the fuel pump (no sound when ignition it on), or starter (no crank no start). Only a few dash lights, security light blinks continuously, windows and locks still work.

These compass are notorious for relay box water issues so I address that after the fuse box check (all fuses just in case). Replaced the corroded relay and connection terminal, charged the battery and jumper cables to be safe. Checked grounds and all connections the best I could. I believe I checked all the important ones I could find. No issues there. Battery does drain after trying to start too many times without a jump.

I’m out of ideas. I can only assume the car is in safety/security mode and I have no idea how to confirm that. Or alternator isn’t getting through. I thought it would still have enough juice to activate fuel pump before turning key all the way over.

. Or alternator isn’t getting through.

alternator isn't needed for starting. Just a healthy battery (or boost from another vehicle)

security light blinks

of course it won't start then.

You need to find out what's going on with the anti theft system. Run a full diagnostic scan.

Have you tried a backup key?

I didn’t think alternator would have anything to do with this but just as a diagnostic checklist, it was included.

If it is an anti-theft system issue then why would the Jeep dealer give the car back before fixing it? Because it wasn’t an issue when I had checked everything before, but is now that I have it back. So whatever happened with that was when they were tearing things apart there. Knowing I couldn’t reset a security system myself, why would they give it back like that?

Is there an alternative to resetting the anti-theft without towing it all over the tri-state to incompetent dealers? Only 2 Jeep specific dealers in the area and I wouldn’t take a car from them for free.

And yes. Both keys, same issue.

because dealers suck

So main possible issue is a possible anti-theft they caused? I’ve never had it happen before so I’m not sure what this would even look like. What about before the anti-theft? Does the relay issue seem like a good possibility? I’ll have to just figure the security thing out.

I repeat, you have an anti-theft issue.

I get the @imperator but the root issue happened before the dealer caused the my anti-theft system FUBR. Something was already causing a crank no start (suspect relay). Thanks for helping so far.

maybe you have more than one issue. But it still won't start with the anti theft triggered.
anyway, it takes 30 seconds to swap a relay with another one and test it.
