2014 Subaru Forester 2.5 CVT New Brake Pads and Rotors Hotter

Hi Scotty,

My car is a 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5 CVT with about 95000 miles. I recently changed front brake pads and rotors with OEM parts from Subaru.

I have noticed the new front brake pads and rotors are much hotter than the old rear rotors. I took it on a highway drive for about half an hour without any braking, then slowed done and stopped using engine brake and shifting to neutral at the very end. Still, the front rotors are much hotter (can touch it but need to retract hand in 1 second) than the rear rotors.

Is that expected of a brake pad and rotor change?

Thank you!

Lift the car and check if the pads are sticking to the rotors.

Hey there ere you might also wan to check the recalls with Subaru.
I'm having a similar issue, bought a used 2012 Subaru Impreza 4cyl 2.0i.. shortly after buying it Subaru sent, letter asking to take it in, for a warranty extension for the brake switch.

Maybe the bearings are starting to wear out.
