2014 Toyota Yaris Won’t Start

A few months ago I was driving my 2014 Toyota Yaris LE on the highway going about 70 mph when a light on my dash turned on signifying that the engine was starting to overheat. I don’t think I noticed this right away, because I only looked down at the dash when suddenly I felt the acceleration slowing down with my foot still pushing down on the pedal and heard a quick ticking noise that sounded like a wind-up toy when being turned. Following instantly the car shut down and I coasted onto a median while the car was steaming. After the car cooled down I looked around under the hood and found my radiator cap was missing and coolant all over the engine and other components. Since that point on the car has not started, however when I turned the key the power comes on and sounds like it’s turning over, like it’s almost about to start but just continues on without actually starting. The engine oil looks fine, no coolant inside. Not sure where to start or what to look for, someone please help!

Unfortunately, I can just bug into you. The engine is fried from overheating. All that ticking noise. Have a compression test. Dawn of the engine take out the spark plugs and put a compression gauge in. You're probably fine that it's completely shot and has either low or no compression at all
