2014 Hyundai Tuscan engine problems

Help Scotty, My granddaughter has a 2014 Hyundai Tuscan and on May 4th, 2022 while driving on the highway just died. A Hyundai dealership examined it and said sludge was in the engine that the mechanics who change the oil didn't notice. My granddaughter has kept all her maintenance records and had the oil changed every 5000 miles or less. Hyundai wants $11,000 for a new engine. Is that price correct and do you have any suggestions as to what would help her? Thank you, Ken Bishop

Hyundais are having engine issues. Definitely, not worth putting $11k in it. Check the NHTSA to see if your car is involved in  a recall or not. Try to find a used engine from a junkyard and then get rid of the car by selling to Carvana,....

I assume that either she is not the original owner or it has over 100,000 miles so the much-advertised Hyundai 10 year/100K mile warranty does not apply.

It makes no sense to put $11,000 into that thing. As has been suggested by @yaser probably the least expensive way out will be to have a junkyard engine installed and then once it's running dump the whole mess on Carvana.
