Should I buy this 2015 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback?

I am still searching a lower cost used car to do UBER for a year or two. Then sell it, or donate it. I do well with high mileage cars in Maintaining them. I had a 1999 Chevy Cavalier that I had 300K miles on it before I got rid of it. (Should have dumped the now ex instead LOL), and currently Still have my 1994 Jeep Cherokee, 4.0L 2WD with 325,000 miles and still passes CA smog. I did have to replace a cracked Exhaust Manifold- normal issue. I had to get a new Catalytic Converter Only because because two years earlier I had a new one installed. Then this year, CA enacted their CA Ransom for the CA stamp. Cost something like $250,000 to the manufacturer for the stamp. And its the same Cat for every state.

I digress, just saying I get mileage out of my cars. Now the Ford Fiesta is the low end for Ford. Looks in good shape. It has 77,000 miles. Auto Trans. Traction control. ABS Brakes.  Is it likely to get another 70,000 miles on it? Probably needs timing belt soon, guessing 90K miles. And I am sure be the Water pump and starter at some time. Is it a car I should consider or should I pass. ?  Wants $6800. I think would take $6100

Hello Jmrec from California. The Ford Fiesta is very low on the tier list for compact cars unfortunately. I am surprised it made it to 77k miles without transmission problems, maybe they were mostly highway miles. The Uber type of stop and go driving is very taxing on brake/suspension/transmission systems. After tallying those maintenance costs you would barely be making above min wage but likely hitting below that with a Fiesta. It would be better to go with something like a Toyota Camry or Prius for that type of driving. Uber/Lyft have vehicle age limits that make cheaper newer cars look enticing but it is important to crunch the numbers carefully. Fiscally speaking you may be better off going with a much older honda/toyota and doing delivery type driving.

I needed to know about the Fiesta. I knew it was the bottom of the barrel . Was looking if could get away with using it in uber, then toss the car. Thanks for the info on the Fiesta.
