Today I was at a red light and held the brake pedal while on the accelerator pedal, was trying to launch my car... then at the next red light I did it again, only to hear a noise whenever I held the gas and brake at the same time. It makes a noise what sounds to be coming from the driver side wheel compartment, transmission is also close to that side. My initial thought was a cv joint, transmission, but I pray something in the braking system is loose. I’m going to tear into the brakes tomorrow, I don’t torque my bolts I just Throw one singular Ugga dugga on them so something may be loose

My question is, What happens to your vehicle components when you try and launch a car by holding the brake and revving for about 5 seconds, then launching. {black}:crying:

you stress them beyond the limits that they were build for. Street cars just aren't designed for that kind of abuse.

this is what your driveline fluids will look like

Those are not very robust cars, doing that kind of thing may well have stressed the transmission and damaged it. If you're lucky though as you say hopefully it is something relatively minor that just needs to be tightened up. You won't know until you tear into it. In the meantime I'd recommend not doing those kind of "launches" again!

In the case of tightening bolts, one singular Ugga dugga may not be enough for sure. I would highly recommend a torque wrench and then as more experience comes down then you can throw out a ugga dugga or 3. I know for my wheels it takes 76ft-lbs or 2 ugga dugga. But for something like a sparkplug half a ugga is more than enough. For customer cars though I always torque lol.

Wasn’t the brakes {black}:scared:

Actually I think it was the brakes I checked didn’t see any thing out of the ordinary took my pads off and put them back on... then I commented it wasn’t it. But I drove it around and it seems the noise is gone... what in the heck?

Okay so update. I thought it was the brakes but it wasn’t. Got the trans fluid flushed before this problem occurred, they didn’t put the full amount of fluid back in took to dealer they said fluid was low added trans fluid and now the noise is completely gone. Said some damage may have occurred. I don’t notice any problems anymore.
