2015 silverado 1500 190 thousand miles
Hello Scotty. I must be lucky or I don't want to jynx it. You scared me about a chevy that has 150k plus miles. Transmission more importantly. I have a 2015 I am the original owner and my truck engine and tranny has never been a problem yet. I pull an RV 3 times a year over a mountain since I had it. I do regular maintenance but now I'm afraid by your wisdom that it will break down soon. When I hit 200 I will do a first time filter change so far it has been flush only. Even chevy said flush but with my persistent asking, evenutally said they would change filter at 200

Don't flush your transmission fluid, especially when it's recommended by the dealer -they're in the business of selling cars, not maintaining them. They want to sell you a new one. Particulates and debris can become stuck in the valve body of the transmission, costing you potentially thousands of $$. The valve body is the brain of the automatic, flushing it is the equivalent of your brain possibly having a stroke. Something can get wedged into the valve body. You should have also changed the filter every 60,000 miles, not every 200,000 miles. The lifespan of an automatic transmission that's dealer-guaranteed is 5 years or 60,000 miles. After that, it's on you if the tranny fails.
