Hello Scotty and the car community,

My parents recently bought a 2015 Toyota Rav4 with 60,000 miles for $14,800. My parents had to buy this vehicle because our vehicles are getting old and new vehicles are expensive. I wonder if this is a good deal.

In my brief online search, for a same year and similar mileage Rav4 (you did not mention the trim level) $14,800 seems to be a good price in this post covid market (as @MMJ mentioned). That is assuming of course that it was checked out thoroughly by a competent mechanic. Hopefully it serves them well.

The RAV4 my parents own was the LE trim. The only problem I heard about any 2015 RAV4 is the torque converter.

Well it's theirs now.

There are no good deals post covid

RAV4s are great cars.

They are definitely better than the newer RAV4s. Anyways, thanks for your opinion.

Pre COVID, bad deal for a 7-8 year old car.

Post COVID, it seems to be par for the course sort of deal, assuming it checks out.

Yeah, I agree it is an ok deal. I hope it will last even though I heard this particular RAV4 has a torque converter problem.

too bad you didn't tell your parents about the forum

I probably should tell my parents about it, but they have been so busy lately. That's unfortunate it has a major problem. Is this something you can live with or do you need to fix it right away once it shudders? My parents and I will use it as a road trip vehicle.
