30K+ miles, still charges to 75 mile range, but I know I'm living on borrowed time with 9 year old batteries. Is there anything I can do to prolong the life of the batteries? Replacement in only $25K but I paid $13K for the car in 2017. Any advice is truly appreciated!
Thanks,
Don
Unfortunately that's the electric car ownership experience as they get older. I doubt there is any way to extend the life of the batteries, but you might be able to get a rebuilt battery pack for less than a new one that will be good for a couple of years. (In a rebuilt pack only the bad cells are replaced so you still have old ones that pass testing now but are likely to fail down the road.)
Thanks, I may look into that. I have considered making it a project and rebuild the battery packs when the time comes. Hopefully, I'll get a another year or two out of current batteries.
Thanks again,
Don
