Thinking about getting a 2017 Camry SE. I heard that it’s very reliable and a great choice when it comes to having a car long term. What do you all think about this car? I love it
They are very good cars with no major issues. If you like it and you find the right one at the right price, go for it.
If you want to fall asleep for the next 10 years, then buy a Camry/Toyota. Not the most exciting of cars but with good care you will sleep well for at least 10+ years! 🙂
I would. And I did...Back in August I found a 2017 Camry LE with 15k miles on a Hyundai lot. Carfax said it was a low miles lease return and my guess is it had been ignored for a few months. Got it for $13900 plus tax.
Not my first Camry but love it. I know its the "simple" and somewhat underpowered version but so far its a great car and I've gotten as much as 38mpg on the highway. Its nice to have a car in addition to the Tacoma to drive around.
They are good cars. If you like it, get a mechanic to check it out and then buy it. I have seen so many examples of Toyota's abused by owners because they think that they don't need to do any maintenace and it will do a million miles. That's not the case. My father had a 97 Corolla pile of junk it was. Camrys used to be bulletrproot but the 2007+ I would say this:
If it is in good shape and you will ocntinue to take car of it, it can be an excellent car, the most reliable car you ever owned
But if you neglect oil changes and burn the transmission out then that will be bad.
Compared to other cars it is very reliable.
What went wrong with 97 Corolla?
It would overheat it would stall it would not start. I dont know anything about a cars engine and transmission so maybe its a torque converter issue thats common.
no get the 2012-2016 with the 6 speed auto they drive better and been out longer
The 2017's do have the 6 speed auto.
2018 was the year Toyota transitioned to the new, not so dependable 8 speed tranny.
oh was thinking of rav 4 then. yea go for it
Okay, thank you all so much!
