- would doing a muffler delete on a 1997 camry LE hurt the car and uts performance?

I doubt it but it would probably annoy the heck out of everyone around you and result in the police ticketing you.

Don't. If you're driving a 4-cylinder, it will annoy the heck out of people. Who wants to ride around all day making all that noise anyways? I have Rouch axlebacks on my 2017 Mustang and sometimes I can't stand the sound, especially on the highway. It still muffles the sound a little bit. It's a Toyota Camry, it's not a muscle car, and, even if it's a V6, you're just making all kinds of noise for no reason. Exhausts are fine tuned for a reason.
