Hi , I have a 2017 chevy equinox premier. My windshield has a crack in my line of sight. I was quoted by the company safelight $600+ to replace my windshield due to the fact that the front camera (attached to windshield) has to be recalibrated. Is this true ?? Also my air bag (passenger) light keeps coming on randomly as though someone is sitting there and doesn't not have thier seat belt on when there is NOTHING even on the seat . When I plug in the OBDll reader no codes come up what's so ever . What should I do ?? I don't want to take it to dealership cause I know they will take one look a single female with small child and think I can be taken advantage of. By the way my car is paid for I have pink slip in hand .
Yep, … it’s true. Replacement windshields are expensive to begin with, … especially the ones that have "technology" items affixed to them, or imbedded in them. Specifically the ones that feed information to computer for processing for purpose of displaying information on the screen for the driver.
As to the air bag light: … just go to the dealer - I’m assuming that the warranty is still in effect - and ask them to check and fix it! That’s it, … direct them that this is only what you want them to fix, … and nothing else! Nada, …
F.S.
I agree with @Figmund_Sreud about the windshield and the air bag if you have warranty. If you don’t have warranty, disconnect the positive post on your battery and leave it or 30 min, then put it back on, hopefully it will fix the airbag issue.
