Scotty,
I am looking at buying a used Lincoln MKZ and really like the body style change that happened in 2017. I know you said the Ford Fusion impressed you, and sense the MKZ is pretty much a Fusion, i was thinking the MKZ could be a pretty reliable car.
What are you thoughts on the Lincoln MKZ?
Thank you
This new generation had two engine options: 2.0 I4 and a 3.0 V6. The 2.0 I4 is a turbo EcoBoost design, not the best for long term reliability. However, the 3.0 V6 is a twin-turbo EcoBoost. Neither are going to last that long. Modern Lincoln vehicles are consistently being ranked as the least reliable brands by many reliability measures. It also has a Ford automatic transmission known for its problems as it ages.
I would avoid this vehicle. You can do better for the money.
MY 2013-2016 (albeit not the year OP is asking about) for that generation also had the 3.7L Duratec V6 as well as 2.0L Duratec for the hybrids, which we are also not recommending for long term reliability for that generation.
