I have a 2018 Ford F150 STX. I need to repmace tje battery. The auto parts store said the trucks computer will need to be reset so that it will "recognize" the battery. I watched a video of a guy changing one and he didn't say anything about it. Is there something special you have to do when changing the battery on a 2018 F150??
it's not exactly about "recognizing" the battery. The computer just needs to know that the battery is new, rather than old and worn out, so it can use an appropriate charging profile.
I honestly don't know if your truck uses this system (refer to your owner's manual for that), but the process requires a more sophisticated diagnostic tool.
