How reliable is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee with the 2.4L I4? There is one at my dad's work that was bought new and maintained regularly and was used as a fleet vehicle. It has about 65K miles. They are asking about $13,530 as that's what they owe on the vehicle. I could probably get the price down a bit, but ignoring the price how reliable is it and should I buy it?
Putting this up here: the car actually has 90k miles. I thought it was 60k.
What exactly falls apart? I mean I know that vehicles from Chrysler aren't that good (I currently have an 07 Compass, and it's very low quality, but it still a pretty good car), but I see very few complaints on carcomplaints.com. I also learned that it has 90k miles, and still no major issues, if any issues at all.
They are not reliable at all they are hunks of junk remember Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram are part of FCA and Fiat quality is extremly low. 65k miles is nearing the end of it's life.

Much better choices choices for that much money.
Like I said, ignoring the price how reliable is this vehicle.
Reliability of modern Jeeps built by Fiat-Chrysler has been poor. It's the kind of vehicle that if someone really wants one it is best leased for a few years and turned back in before developing major problems. (Or at least any problems would be under warranty.)

Everything really. It is a 2018 model so it is hard to tell but the quality is just dodgy. Sometimes, the engine and transmission go out before 40k miles, and other times, right around 100k miles. You should look up more about Chrysler products by watching Scotty's videos and searching up answers we made on previous posts. The FAQ of this forum has a section about used cars where you can find helpful videos by Scotty and links so I would check that out. Some of the videos about SUVs contain info about Jeeps.
Like other Fiat-Chrysler products, Jeeps are known for electrical problems, transmission problems, and engine problems, particularly as they get to around 100K miles. It's your money, if you really like it you could always take a chance. I'd definitely have a mechanic with a fancy dealer-level scan tool check it for problems first. The computer will report impending trouble that may not be otherwise noticeable yet.
Yeah, I'm just seeing if it would last longer than the afformentioned Compass.
Scotty has a video on a newer Compass I would check it out.
You said you own a jeep now and it's low quality...I'm not sure how you can say it's low quality, but still good..i just mean that doesn't make sense to me..if you mean that it hasn't broken down yet, that just means you're lucky. And this other jeep..junk..it has 90k on it, you could get. A used. Rav4 or CR-V and be happier... Or something else if you don't like those ..but that jeep will fall apart...no way...ever. and, scotty has said they're basically made by fiat...it's bad enough chrysler is involved in building them
