I have a 2018 rav4 30k miles. The steering pulls to the right. I contacted the alignment shop to schedule an alignment and the guy said those vehicles don't have a way to align them or something like that??? The tires are in fair condition but we were gonna try to make it thru the holidays before buying new ones but wanted to get it aligned. He said I can swap the 2 front tires to see if it changes the way it pulls. We bought the vehicle in September.
Yup , check your tire pressures. Try swapping the two front wheels.
Unless it has been in a wreck, you shouldn't need a wheel alignment at 30k.
What exactly does swapping the tires do? Is it to do with wear? Or should I try that only if the air pressures are both right?
Yes.
If you swap the wheels (not tires. we're not taking the rubber off yet), and the pulling either reverses direction, or goes away, then your alignment is fine.
Ok I will try swapping them i just checked the tire pressure and they are both at perfect pressure. I even checked the rear while I was there just to make sure they were good because of how cold its been. Thanks for the tips
I swapped the tires its not pulling anymore. Thanks again
Good the hear that swapping the WHEELS worked. Thanks for reporting back.
