2019 Acura ILX

What is the consensus around Acura ILX's?  I've been looking around for a sedan and saw this model.  Are they just has good as the Hondas?

The Acura ILX is based on the Honda Civic Sedan.  However, the Acura ILX comes with a bigger displacement 2.4L 201 hp I4 GDI engine - but at least it is naturally aspirated. The dealbreaker, however, is the fact that it is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission which is not going to last as long as a conventional automatic transmission.  For longevity and lower cost of ownership (you didn’t say how many years and miles it needs to last you) I would avoid the ILX.  Realize also that with Acura - being a luxury brand - that cost of maintenance/repair/parts (including insurance) will generally be higher than the non-luxury Honda counterpart.  Also, see below:

Yes. Acuras are just fancy Hondas.
