Fleet Cars

Scotty,

i am looking at getting a couple of fleet cars for two of my workers. They put on about 25k miles a year and wondering what would be the best vehicles for them. We have a maid cleaning company so they would have to carry some cleaning equipment but not heavy equipment. We are in Omaha, NE so we do get snow, ice etc

I have been looking at the Honda HRV, Kia Soul or something similar. I am considering warranties, and then over all reliability.

I will be waiting until this car shortage is over and hopefully it is just around the corner

thank you in advance.

Forget the Kia, it will turn into a pile of junk pretty quickly putting that kind of mileage on it. In general Toyota and Honda will hold up the best in that situation.

1 big factor - life cycle costs. No matter any savings in maintenance and repair, after 5 or 6 years, 125-150k miles, you will be able to sell a Honda or Toyota for a lot more than  Kia or such. A Corolla hatchback might fit the bill, too.

I have a proposal for you. Since you need to get TWO cars. Why not get the Honda HRV and the Kia Soul. Yup. That’s right, get them both. Why?

So we can see first hand how much it costs to maintain a Honda and a Kia over the course of a year. And we can also see put reliability to the test. Honda has the reputation of being reliable. Kia not so much.

With you, you have a real world test. And your employees will probably be logging the same amount of miles over the course of a year to 5 years.

It’s a rare opportunity to test longevity side by side.

Toyota and Honda are always top of the list.

I personally would go with a toyota RAV4. But I understand they go for about 5k more than the honda but if it came to my personal business I would buy the quality from toyota but there is ford ecosport in 4wd thats nice as well.

I don't know... don't those Ecosports have 3-cylinder turbocharged engines? Doesn't seem like they'd hold up very well putting a lot of miles on them.

they come with the option for 4wd a 2.0 4cyl engine.
