My 2019 Kia Forte recently had the battery die and after replacing my battery getting P0014,P0017 and P00366. The following things have been changed/completed on my end after replacing the battery.

  • Oil change
  • Changed 2 Camshaft position sensora
  • Changed VTT solenoid exhaust

After clearing codes they come back , using NAPA branded camshaft position sensor which aligns with oem part number. Losing my head trying to figure this out not sure what else it could be.

Interesting, that's the first fault I've seen on the revised NU MPi 2.0L (G4NH).

There's very little information out on it, but sources do state "yet to be understood issues with the engine electronics"

Some call it "glitches", or in other words "There's no mechanical fault, the computer is just seeing things"

I also found this (translated):

"According to repairman, electrical glitches are not critical and in most cases disappear by themselves. In case of frequent glitches, it is recommended to contact the dealer and require flashing of the electronic control unit (ECU)"

It really does sound like the battery replacement made the ECU loose it.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and waiting for a bit? I really doubt that's something mechanical.

Also do not use non-OEM electronic components, try replacing it back with the original and then disconnect the battery.

Mosts importantly, if that's a Kia with an iVT, get the TCM updated and dump it ASAP before the iVT explodes.

(There's a Voluntary Service Campaign for that. As far as I know the ECU does get refreshed during that campaign)

How has the iVT been so far? I'm guessing you mostly do highway driving?

Look up the codes on autocodes.com and go from there.

Already have done this and completed all steps for P00366 & P00365 but still getting these errors
