2019 Kia Sorento sxlv6

I've had several warning lights come on recently  dealership tech says etc code c160649 bcu s/w error this code is for front lane departure warning system. suggests replacing front camera assy on front w/s.  39859 miles  purchased new same dealer 

I just finished paying loan and date of new purchase was 5/31/2018 so unfortunately its out of warranty too!!  dealership says unusual for this part to fail. its almost $2000 to fix!!

anyone heard of this or had happen. I'm going to write to kia corporate but doubt they'll do anything. no recalls the dealer is aware of. anyone else had this happen or can you suggest what I should do?
