Hi Scotty!
I have a 2018 Kia Sorento 3.3 V6 engine, automatic transmission, AWD. It has about 72000 km. We live in Ottawa, Ontario.
Maybe I'm too picky but I started noticing a little bit harsh shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear when driving car in cold weather (especially below 0) without warming up. 1st to 2nd also can be noticeable. 3 to 4 is usually better, 4 to 5 and 5 to 6 always smooth. Downshifting is always fine.
Do you think it is worth changing or at least inspecting transmission liquid? It's a hard to find a good mechanic. Thanks!
I would change the fluid and filter now before it gets worse.
Do you think it is worth changing
it was worth changing back when you had 50 or 60k.
Kia's have really bad transmissions though. A friend of mine went through several just in the first couple of years.
but rough shifting when cold is pretty common. If it bothers you, then warm it up longer. Shifting it into 'D' and holding the brake will warm it up faster.
Hi, do you mean it should have been replaced at 50-60k of kilometers or miles?
miles. Or about 90,000 km.
Thanks for the replies, will search who can do the change or at least inspection in my area.
