Alright I’ll be purchasing a new vehicle in the coming months and I wanted opinions or thoughts on my vehicle choice.
My first Option is a 2021 Corolla 2.0 with a 6 speed manual. It’s a fuel friendly and reliable little car. I currently drive a Cobalt and I like the size and maneuverability of the vehicle.
My second option is the Subaru CrossTrek again with the 2.0 and 6 sped manual. I live in Wisconsin where the AWD would be handy but isn’t necessary.
I’m going to test drive both vehicles, but I wanted to know if people felt strongly one way or another about either vehicle. I’ve been doing my research and haven’t found anything deal breaking about either one. Any input would be appreciated!
Thank you for taking time to read my question. Have a fine day.
Corolla would be zippier.
Supposed to be a "Corolla Cross" SUV coming at some point.
And Honda HR-V will be redesigned to better compete next year.
Covid really delayed the release of new car models.
It is good that you can drive manual, since the weak point of Subarus is their automatic transmission. Also, if you want AWD, the Subaru is perfect. I think both have good cars. It all depends on what you prefer. The Corollas definitely last longer. I like the way you narrowed down all the preferences and I think whatever you end up, will be the best for you. Good luck.
If you will buy it and keep it for 20 years then get the Corolla hands down. If you will take care of your car and keep it for 10 years max, then get the Subaru. It's practical and has a great AWD system. The biggest weak point is the auotmatic transmission so get the manuel and change the oil every 4-6k miles. Both are good but Corolla is more reliable. Subaru's tend to be recalled a lot for safety reasons so keep that in mind and keep up to date! Both are excellent vehicles for short-term.
