My son has a 2021 ford escape. It has 1600 miles. Yes, 1600. He lives in HI. He hears a ticking sound when he turns left. What could it be? I am thinking cv joint. But, is there anything else?

I would take it to the dealer. You don't  need to even worry about diagnosing it with it being that new.

In an ideal world, I'd agree with Mod_Man. But what Scotty says is right: Dealerships don't want problems and will try to waive away real problems. "Oh, they're all like that," or "We don't hear it." And so forth. The more knowledgeable one is, and the more aware the dealership service dept. is about the knowledge level of the customer, they might understand that the B.S. rap won't work. And if one dealer won't deal with it, find another.

It's probably some kind of bearing or joint problem. Poor QC for a new vehicle, IHMO.
