I am currently at 33,000 miles on a 2022 camry hybrid le and I am super confused on the transmission fluid interval I have Called 3 dealerships one in Tampa Florida has said lt needs changed every 30,000 miles one in gastonia nc says they don't do it at all on my model of vehicle because it's a sealed transmission and they don't even recommend the normal drain and fill and the third toyota of north charlotte says the interval is at 120,000 miles what is the true answer to this question please help I'm mentally drained over this. Really need a true quality answer some say every 40-60k miles but the numbers seem all over the place
You should change the transmission fluid every 60k miles, and that goes for most cars, unless you own something like a Roll Royce. Whoever said the fluid is in a sealed transmission or it's permanent lied to you. There is no such thing as a sealed transmission.
There is no definitive answer.
Many dealers will try to upsell you every chance they get. Every 20,000-30,000 miles.
Other dealers will say the fluid is "lifetime" which implies about 120,000 miles. (I define "lifetime" as how far the owners manual will take you on maintenance. Which is about 120,000 miles in many of the owners manuals I have seen.)
Folks on this forum may suggest 50,000-60,000 miles, as preventive maintenance.
You are right, it is all over the place.
At the very least 120,000 miles. If you want to play it safe, 50,000 - 60,000 miles. 30,000 miles seems too soon, unless it is a traditional CVT.
So with my specific model it seems like 60,000 miles is probably the good route? Thanks again
Yes, it is probably a good route. Let's see what others have to say!
There is no such thing as a sealed transmission
Oh they seal them all right.. to the point of where it's a pain to service one!
"Lifetime" is the sales pitch
