Hey Scotty, I was looking at getting a new 2022 santa Cruz hyundai compact truck next year. Since it is a new design I was wondering if I should avoid it or maybe get 2023 if they do make one

I wouldn't even think about it. Hyundai quality is garbage and this is the first year for their new disaster. Easy pass from me.

It is not a good idea to buy a first model year of any car. Also, it is not a smart idea to buy a Hyundai car if you want to keep the car for as long as possible. With that being said, if you want to keep it for couple of years, it may be fine.

Using the word Hyundai and truck together just doesn't work for me.  But then, I would never buy anything made by Hyundai anyway because I'm not a masochist.

{black} Man I'm getting some good morning laughs from the forum today. Much appreciated! And upvoted for that, plus truth.

Listen to @yaser

If you must have it, lease one & get it out of your system.

As for Hyundai Motor Group - we are currently not recommending any of their products due to poor quality/reliability.  Also their famous 10 year/100,000 mile warranty is not what it is cracked up to be:  they try to find a way out of a warranty claim more times than people realize.  If there was any doubt about Hyundai Motor Group, see below:

If you like the style of that car, consider buying a Honda Ridgeline instead. You will be much happier down the road.
