2022 New subaru impreza hatchback

Hey all!  So I'm gonna be new to the subaru brand and was hoping y'all could give me some maintenence tips, things to watch out for, and just general advice on what I can do to get the longest life outta this thing.  I know there can be some issues in higher mileage and I wanna do everything I can from the start to ensure that doesn't happen.  Thanks!!

Well they can be decent cars. As long as you only get a 4-cylinder Subaru I would never buy a six-cylinder. Those engines have problems

Take all the maintenance items and divide the mileage intervals by 2.  For example, if it says change the engine oil and filter every 10,000 miles, change it every 5.000 miles, etc.

Just to be clear, this is not a Subaru specific thing. You should be doing this for any brand 🙂

Easy DIY car. My daughter has a Crosstrek, which is the same bones, and I do most of the maintenance.
I agree with @doc to change oil and filter every 5000. Very easy job (even easier if you install a fumoto valve).
Front and rear diff fluid is an easy job. Do it every 30,000. Just be careful to note the front diff versus CVT drain and fill plugs!

Spark plugs at 60000. A bit of a chore because the boxer engine layout puts the plugs deep in the engine bay. A lot of pro shops lift the engine a couple inches to make easier access.  But you can do it yourself if you get the right socket attachments ((look for a wobble attachment).
The biggest job is CVT fluid. Don’t touch it until 100,000 or you’ll void the warranty. Thereafter, change it every 60,000 or so.

PS: don’t tow with it

Who's towing with these things?? Lol you're the second person to say that!
