I have a Toyota pick up(1994) with a 22re(Manuel trans) It has about 160k miles on it.I’ve been having this problem where when the motor is warm the idle gets jumpy and starts to overheat. The surging is random. I’ve tested for vacuum leaks but couldn’t find anything. Need help

You're talking about a nearly 30-year-old pickup which, unless it's been relatively recently refurbished, could have just about anything wrong with it. For the overheating problem have you checked the obvious stuff like stuck thermostat, clogged radiator, bad water pump impeller, cooling fans (electric or fan clutch)? As far as the idle problem what kind of shape are your fuel injectors in? (Dripping perhaps?) Fuel pressure OK? Air filter?
