Hey Scotty I’m looking for a bigger truck to put my welder on and all my tools don’t really have the financial stability for a diesel so what are some good gas trucks 3/4 ton and up used and new
Adding @7-3punchina3-4 and @USAFdozerpilot to the discussion
For 3/4-ton the best is the Ford F-250 (with the true and tried 6.2L gas V8 and 6-speed AT).
@shawnwolfe1013 I’d go Ford w/ the 6.2 V8 w/ 6 speed transmission. The 7.3 GODZILLA motor to me still needs a few yrs before we know if it’s a good motor or not. @daywalker is spot on in my opinion. Be aware that Ford customer service is absolutely terrible but I feel like they have taken trucks way more seriously than GM does. Also, I wouldn’t shy away from the 6.4 HEMI w/ 8speed tranny in the tradesman trim. Unless you are totally against FCA.
The 7.3 hasn't really had any issues yet. It is most likely going to be a fine engine, but I wouldn't risk it.
The 6.7 Powerstroke is a great motor, and you can usually find a nice used one laying around.
The 6.2 is the best choice for a new F-250. It has a lot of power and is reliable.
I would really recommend a Super Duty. The 6.2 and 7.3 are better than the 6.0 Vortec in my personal opinion. I wouldn't recommend a 2500 Tradesman just because of their poor mexican build quality.
Go Chevy or Ford, but the Fords are more abundant, have better deals, and are more reliable.
In conclusion: 1st: 6.2 New, 2nd 6.7 Used, 3rd 6.0 Vortec new (GMC or Chevy), 4th 7.3 Godzilla, 5th any ram
What is better 6 letter vortec 2500hd 2012-2020 or 7.3 f250 gas
please don't double post thanks
