Wife and I have four kids and we need to get a vehicle with a third row seat. I cannot afford a sequoia or a four Runner plus she will not do a minivan whatsoever. We were looking at a Mazda Q 60 I think it is what would you recommend Scotty
Friend, rent a honda or toyota van for one week you will change your mind and so will your wife.. You can get one 10 years old pretty reasonable for the exact same reason you don't wont one. They are not the most popular vehicles, but if you give it a chance you will love it... They are so handy and can haul about the same as a truck and electric doors for 4 small ones is a joyand all kinds of room for each one and entertainment.... good luck on your choice...
For what it's worth test drive a Sorento. It has the third seat. Don't buy a turbo or a DCT. I have a three year old "S" trim with the Kia's conventional 8 speed transmission. A lot of people don't like Korean cars but mine has been flawless since I have owned it. When I was shopping around I took test drives in a couple of Mazdas and Toyotas. The Sorento was the only one that seemed to accelerate on demand. The others hesitated, down shifted and then your heard the engine roaring before the car started to move.
I went to the Kia dealer once to pick up a starter for my wife's 10 year old SantaFe. Hyundai was all out of them so I tried the local kia dealer knowing they share parts. They had one. While I was there I asked about the pile of engine blocks in the corner. The counter guy told me those are turbo's. They are blowing up right and left. I asked about the non-turbos. He said they have been holding up. We have not had to change one in a couple of years but the turbos are a horror story.
I could not find the Mazda Q60 you refer to. Are you outside the US?
Just my two cents for what it is worth. Good luck and enjoy the holidays.
