I have a 2000 7.3 with the 4r100 transmission. Never had any problems out of the transmission. Parked it came back couple days later started it up and it won’t go in gear. When you go though the gears you can hear the rpm’s change but it won’t do anything in any gear.
Fluid is fine. 198,000 miles.
Check the transmission fluid dipstick. Is there any fluid? How many miles are on the truck?

If the vehicle is not moving, then your transmission is out and needs to be replaced/rebuilt.
No chance of anything electrical? I just need to start looking into a rebuild?
Are you getting any codes on the vehicle?
I don’t have a scanner but no lights on the dash but why would it just go out like that overnight. It had no noise, no slipping or anything when I was driving it.
You need the vehicle to warm up a bit. If you start the car and then drive it immediately sometimes it won't go. I would also get a scanner just in case anything does happen on that truck.
