Is it a good idea to lift a 2018 Toyota 4runner and add large tires?
Clarification: What are the stock size tires and which size are you trying to move up to?
It depends on what you're going to do. If you have an automatic transmission, the higher gear ration (lower number) caused by the larger diameter tires will put more of a strain on the trans. The lift kit will alter the design geometry of the drive shaft(s) and may need to be compensated for with a transfer case drop kit. There are lots of unintended consequences that need to be researched before making this decision. Good luck.

Like Doc said, lifting it will cause you to have to address various issues that will result from the lift. A lot of guys lift their 4Runners but I have chosen to keep my 2019 ORP stock. I don't do any rock crawling or other extreme stuff.
People do it.
Just understand that your wallet will be entering a world of hurt. It doesn't end at lift and tires.
Get an older beater one and do these mods if you want to.
