Scotty,
I have a 2016 4Runner SR5 with part time 4WD and about 95K miles on it. I want to change the transmission fluid in the car, but I don't want to pay dealership prices. I have watched videos on changing the front and back differentials which seems to be pretty straight forward. I am worried about putting the correct amount of fluid in. Is the accuracy of the fluid critical? I figure I would measure how much comes out and put about a quart extra in. Any advice would be helpful. Also, could you explain the process in your own words please? Should I crank it and let it sit for a bit while cycle through the gears? Should I cycle between 2WD, 4H and 4L then and drive it in each gear? I love this SUV and want to take care if it best I can. Love your Videos.
Thanks,
Cycling through 2 and 4wd won’t do anything cause that has to do with the transfer case. Watch Chrisfixes video on how to change all fluids in a car and he goes into depth on how to do it.
Hope this helps.
Thank you. This helps. This means I will have to change the transfer case fluid separately right?
