Hello,
I'm wondering if older distributors are affected by EMF so as to put them out of service prematurely.
Getting a check engine light coming on lately too. Not sure that it is related to the distributor, but from
things I've heard, it seems like the older distributors are affected by EMF. If so, is there a workaround?

I've never heard of or experienced that. It would take a heck of a strong magnetic field to affect a car's distributor. Unless you're driving in the vicinity of a magnetar I wouldn't worry about it.

yes if you've got sensor wires routed too close to the spark plug wires, the interference can cause issues.
If you need help you need to post your codes/meaning please.
