Hello I'm putting in a MSD distributor because I had the engine remanufactured. I brought it to a shop and he let it sit in a field with the hood open for 6 months. Lost a lot of parts. I've never dome this before but have no options. How can I put the new distributor in blind? I have a 1987 jeep wrangler 4.2L 258 engine. I just need it to run. Picking up the carburetor tomorrow morning to figure that out too. Wish me luck. Also the Haynes mauel has not been any help after the 30 dollars spent won't let me look at the book again.
Well to put it in blind you put the thing at top dead center for number one cylinder and then point the rotor near the number one cylinder and put it in and hope you can start it and then adjust it by turning it

The rotor should be pointing to the lightning hose in the distributor cap for the #1 spark plug.
