Scotty I have a 95 Mercury cougar 4.6 it's 45,000 original miles on it.when I bought it for 1250 bucks. It sat for a long time. The gas was red put new fuel pump in it and filter. Replaced all fluids.I did manage to find the original owner of it she said she sold to my friend's dad how past away with only 38,000 miles. She had bought it brand new it was bought in Vermont but it never saw snow.It was driven down here to Florida right after they bought it her husband made her sell it and get a Cadillac.lol Everything on it was dry rotted I replaced the whole front end was not very expensive. Been  having some on again off again electrical issues. At first the odometer did not work we sent that out to a place called circuit board medics had odometer fixed. Gas gauge pegs over all the way past full and gauges stop working and this is intermittent as well as some other issues like radio wire lost power which I have not figured out. So this will be my second biggest expense on the car because I will be sending it to someone to check it out. but getting them taken care of leather seats being redone they looked new but they start falling apart right away this so far is the biggest expense I'm having to put out for the car so far. About 450 bucks a seat. Is the car worth putting the money into will it one day be worth some money if we keep the miles low on it. Im also putting true dual exhaust on it and changing the rear differential from the cast steel to the aluminum one out of a Lincoln Mark vlll I'm going to put 3.55 gears in it. And because they do not make a tuner for this car because of the year I have to get a diode to change all the shift points as well as the limiter because it is an aod transmission. The problem having with the car is that it is not completely on an OBD2 system so diagnosing some issues can be difficult. Because of the year I feel it's not very desirable. At the time I saw the mileage and what my friend wanted for it and thought it was a good deal. What are your thoughts should I just leave it alone and get rid of it or fix it and hold on to it

Also it still have the OEM brake pads on it with the clips on the rotors they weren't even halfway through the pads so I believe to mileage to be correct or close to it interior and extra of the car are very good shape very clean car

Well it has serious electrical problems and that old you might have to do the whole wiring over I'd let it go unless you know a really good mechanical works cheap
