Good day 1996 Toyota Corolla 1.6 151k miles. Changed spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap and rotor. There is no codes and still have a misfire that is worst cold than when it warms up. There is no codes stored. What could it be?
I eliminated fuel as a possible issue. Is there something else in the distributor that can cause this?
@gemini15 There are so many things that can cause misfires that unless something under the hood is obviously wrong you need to go through troubleshooting steps. It might help to analyze live data for problems and to get misfire counts for the specific cylinder or cylinders involved.
@gemini15 Obvious things to consider are vacuum leaks, filters, spark plugs, and fuel pressure.
Good day. So I finally got a code p0340 camshaft position sensor however I do not see this part available online anywhere do you know more about it??

@gemini15 The camshaft position sensor is built into the distributor. Have you checked the engine timing with a timing light? https://charm.li/Toyota/1996/Corolla%20Sedan%20L4-96.8%201587cc%201.6L%20DOHC%20%284A-FE%29/Repair%20and%20Diagnosis/A%20L%20L%20%20Diagnostic%20Trouble%20Codes%20%28%20DTC%20%29/#Testing%20and%20Inspection/P%20Code%20Charts/P0340/
No I haven't as I don't have access to that tool BUT timing belt and component kit was replaced late 2023 with an OEM aisin kit so I don't timing is the issue plus the issue is only when it's cold for a minute as it warms up works great.
Okay I will look into it
