Howdy! I have a 97 4Runner 3.4L 300,xxx miles 4x4 automatic and ever since I purchased it the throttle pedal is super hard to push like you have to mean it if you wanna put the pedal to the floor or even just quarter throttle it, it will literally make your leg muscles cramp up like your holding the clutch down on a manual transmission stuck in rush hour traffic? The strange part is when I manually pull the throttle cable from the engine bay it’s fine no resistance other than there normally would be?? Any experience with this issue? Iv even had a shop look at it and they had no clue!. I would like my wife to drive this vehicle but she won’t because the throttle is too much for her to handle especially if she has to punch it to get out into traffic….
Well if it pulls by hand fine that means that you need a new throttle cable. It is made out of metal and it will wear out and bind inside
@scottykilmer awesome thank you Scotty you rock
