(1997 Honda Accord EX wagon//automatic)

Hey Scotty

I bought a 97 accord wagon with 402,000 miles on it for $1,500. The previous owner took really good care of it, the inside is literally immaculate. Its leaking oil and the carfax report says the timing belt was last changed at 300k. Is it worth it to pay my mechanic $900 for timing belt, water pump and the normal stuff related to that service? I really only need this car for a two way cross country trip but its got so many miles i do want to do my part to see how much further she can go.

- slight oil leak

-ac no cold

- shakes under hard braking

- transmission hesitates a bit

thanks!!

If you want to drive it without ruining your engine, you need to change the timing belt, regardless of worth it or not.
