I am losing a little bit a coolant every month when I check my fluids. It's about half of a glass of coolant that I have to put in. There is no leaks at all. I have checked the head gasket and that is fine. I dont know what else to check. The water pump timing belt have been changed. I replaced all my hoses for maintenance purposes. I don't know what is causing this, but I'm afraid it may get worse if I don't find the issue. The radiator and cap are fine as well.
I'm just curious, how exactly did you check the head gasket?
@mascot15
I meant to say I had the cooling system pressure tested at a shop. They didn't have an answer either and said I have never seen this before. I'm probably going to have to take it to the dealer where they will find the issue. I don't have any special tools to do my own testing, but what I do know how to do is look for symptoms. I drained my coolant filled up and bleed the system. Any kind of consistent bubbles indicates a head gasket issue, I had zero bubbles after my car warmed up and I let it idle for about 25 min.
Alright.
A coolant lose would usually indicate a leak somewhere in the system. After all its not a new car, and some leaks or lose of fluids will occur.
I guess in this case you will be better of driving the car to a mechanic like Scotty or the dealer, however i'm not sure if the dealer is the best option for such an "old" car. You know, they specialize in new cars, exchanging parts not finding the problems. Good luck.
