Hello! I have had an ongoing issue. The engine light is on and the error codes: P0446, P0401, and P0171, keep showing up. Before I took it in, I replaced the gas cap, and that didn't work.
Then I took it in and had a few things fixed including:
1. New Evap purge valve,
2. new EGR modulator
3. New EGR vacuum solenoid
4. Charcoal Canister
And the the damn engine light keeps turning on, the P0401, P0171 codes disappeared, for a few weeks, but now both are back. And the P0446 code never leaves, but occasionally the engine light will disappear fir a few hours. I have the FIXD App which is a OBD2 Scanner.
I have spent over $900 on this problem and I am stuck, I have to get my car smogged every year so this is going to be a huge issue. If anyone could please help with any ideas, I would really appreciate it.

Okay well number one the guy's working on your car lousy mechanics they're just replacing parts and guessing you have a problem in the EVAP system for sure and it requires a mechanic with a Toyota dealer level scanner to do bi-directional testing and replace stuff without just guessing like the guys you used.it's off and a problem to evap switching valves but that system has a whole bunch of blows and they are also computer controlled without a dealer level scan tool it is useless attempting to work on those systems even though they are just anti-pollution and don't really affect how the car runs at all
