Hey Scotty and forum,
What's a car that you love but is so unreliable? For me, it's the E60 M5, that car with rod bearing failures, VANOS, throttle actuators, horrible Drive interface, clunky SMG, makes it an insane nightmare to own. However, I love the V10 engine in that car so much and it feels like nothing else on the road.
For me, it's the new Challengers. Love the retro look, but can't justify the price for the quality.
I’ll limit myself to one vehicle since I have a bunch in mind, and that is the C7 Corvette Z06 (2017-2019). Awesome car and best bang for the buck (in terms of track performance) but I don’t have $30,000-$40,000 extra lying around to repair bent/damaged wheels ($5,000 to get set of fully forged wheels aftermarket), a new engine ($20,000+ parts/labor), dropping torque tube for repairs ($5,000), and troubleshooting electrical gremlins and replacing modules ($5,000+). Oh, it also overheats at the track if you push it hard.
Thanks a lot GM! Thankfully, I don’t own the vehicle.
Looking some 2 years old Octavias Scout. It disturbs me that only diesels and DSG are avaliable in previous generation. Good thing is they still don't have electric parking brakes.
My project e30. Parts are impossible to find for a good price but I'm a sucker for retro looking cars. Rolling shells go for like 2k-4k here in cali. Autos go for 5-8k and if it be a manual it's easy 10-15k for a 30+ year old car.
