Hello,
I have a 2019 Toyota Avalon it has been driven for 78124 KM with an automatic transmission, Bought from a used dealership.
Well on the 18 of June 2024 I went to the Agent in My Country (Bahrain) for the standard Oil and Filter Change, the Bill I received included an additional 30$ charge for an inspection on all oil levels and leaks with resulted in nothing (no leaks, great oil level).
the next day while i was driving on a bridge going around 70 KPH i felt that the car was getting heavier and the RPM was rising, I immediately switched the gear from Drive to Manual to lower the RPM witch was a success.
a few minutes later at the red light stop when it turned green the car was not allowing my to accelerate like normal I needed to press the whole gas paddle for the car to move another 20 meters.
got a tow truck to move it to the agent service center where i got a quotation of 9200$ for a new transmission, judging that the car can move in reverse normally I believe that the transmission is fixable unlike the agent said (No transmission fluid leak).
So please judging by that story with the most information i can remember (and if there is any more information needed i will be happy to help) is my transmission dead or is it fixable.
Yours Sincerely.
Abdulla Esam
Well it could be a complete coincidence, but I would have someone else check the transmission fluid and see if indeed it was full or not. If they accidentally drained the fluid out of the transmission that of course will destroy it and you'd find that now. Your transmission is really low on fluid and that's what made it go wacky. If it is full then it just happened to have broken then
