2 questions that im wondering. I've recently purchased a 2011 ford mustang v6 with 122,000 miles on it and was wondering if this is a reliable vehicle. Im 17, this is my first car and was planning to daily it. How long do these mustangs normally last? And are they reliable? No real problems on the car except one that im partially concerned about and was wondering about a cheap fix. The seal between the transmission is leaking and when I took it to a mechanic they wanted to charge me around 800 to fix it because they would have to remove the whole transmission. Any ideas to fix this problem for cheap?
There is no cheap fix for a problem like you described. Most of the work is all labor. You may be tempted to put in miracle cures from a can but they just soften the seals and make them worse later on. Just keep track of your oil level and save that money toward getting it repaired properly. Also shop around and see what other quotes you can get for the same repair in the meanwhile.
