hey scotty ! i'm looking into buying a Mitsubishi lancer from 2008 with the 1,8 L engine . today i drove one that had a ABS sensor malfunction. the car had hard times picking itself up to speed even when the gas peddle was floored . could it be that the ABS sensor malfunction is limiting the engine ?
Did you already scan for codes?

If the concern is a sensor and nothing more it could definitely cause this. When there is variances in wheel speed If a car is equipped with traction control the car can interpret that as wheel slip and cause the vehicle to cut power
