Howdy Scotty, Dan here out in College Station, I have a 2007 v6 rav4 limited edition and I’ve been having quite a few problems with my ac system. in the beginning of the summer the condenser was bad so i replaced it with a new one, but i also had a large gash on the rubber hose of my discharge line, i got it fixed at bryan hose and gaskets and in the process of of putting things back together i managed to break my liquid line.. long story short , i ended up throwing a compression fitting on to reconnect the line. it worked but around mid july i ended up catching myself recharging my system more frequently. so i said the heck with it and went to a salvage yard and was lucky enough to find a 2007 rav4 that still had the liquid line attached but note the service port or adapter that goes into the condenser, was exposed to the environment for i don’t know for how long. It ran me 15 bones so i thought it was a steal and took it. i ended up cleaning it with an air compressor to try to take out any debris that might've snuck in there when it was left exposed. I took the old line out and threw this salvaged line in my car and then proceeded to vacuum out the system to ensure there were no more leaks in my system. the system held at -28psi so i thought she was good to go for a recharge. I started filling her up with refrigerant and everything was looking good, gauges were going up smoothly, the clutch on compressor came on, fans were blowing and all that good stuff but after a few minutes I noticed that the low side pressure was extremely high (75psi) and the high side was low (140 psi) and there was no cool air blowing into my cabin which i thought was weird because i just recharged the system halfway, some cool air should come out at least, or so i think. so i turned off my car and noticed that the guages didn't equalize fully and it took forever to do so (90low-100high). i also, noticed that the liquid line i replaced wasn’t even hot, it was cool, so, with the help of youtube i’ve came to the conclusion that there is either a blockage in the condenser or within the liquid line i had put/the txv has gone bad/the pressure switch on the compressor in faulty. I would like some outside help before I go off and start buying things and wasting money.
Well it could easily be a bad expansion valve. Did you change that? And of course every time you open the system and put it back together, you have to replace the receiver dryer or it will clog up
