so which of the two [ accord or camry ] is worthwhile? My 21 year old accord is about to end it's life cycle and I need to invest in a newer one before winter.
I would suggest the Camry in the sense that they don't have a turbocharged engine and will last longer. On the other hand, personally I like the Accord and if you buy hybrid it won't be turbocharged.
@fjcruiser_2014
I thought the Toyotas were the turbocharged ones, not the Hondas. I would opt for the Accord over the Camry due to turbocharged Toyota Camry.
No the Camry doesn't have turbo engine, the only thing is that starting this year all brand new Camry's are hybrid. Even the Accord if you buy hybrid it won't be turbocharged (only the non hybrid Accord is turbocharged). You can easily find this information on both manufacturers website by checking the specs.
@fjcruiser_2014 Thanks for the info. I would go with the 2024 Camry as you said. So many changes and so few for the good. I will keep fixing my 2000 Buick Lesabre and 2002 GMC Yukon XL Denali. Our 2019 Buick Enclave has been ok so far despite needing a torque converter replacement soon after buying the car new.
The 2024 accord has a recall for the high psi fuel pump [ non hybrid ]. The one I test drove seemed to ride a little rough. Haven't been able to test drive a camry yet. Have owned accords for 30+ years but am concerned with both brands declining quality. Would consider a different brand if there was one with a reliable reputation.
Thanks for the feedback so far.

Even with the decline in quality, still Toyota and Honda are the good ones out there, and would still go for these two brands over other ones.
I'm like you looking for a new car to buy. Can't make up my mind and keep dragging my feet while driving old Civic (at least it still drives). I wish 2025 Camry would be built in Japan than I would've bought one. With all this new tech I'm just waiting to see how Camry will hold out first few years before buying one...
