Adding a turbo

I read a lot of conflicting info online. How difficult and expensive is it to install a turbo on a non turbo car like my 2012 ford fusion 2.5

You mean including your transmission? If it's slipping now, a turbo will finish off pretty quickly.

That tranny doesn't stand a chance against me, brother!

No chance in hell!

{black} Good old memories.

Turbo installs on non-turbo cars are expensive and very complicated.

Realize you are adding a component that was never intended to be on the car. The rest of the vehicle is not prepped for the added power. If you have a slipping transmission as others have said......you'll be a pedestrian within 5 passes on a drag strip.

I'm just going to throw a ballpark out there, and it's a blind estimate, but $20k+ easy to get a solid setup with all the components you need to make it work. And that's not top of the line materials to be clear. I've done $60k twin turbo installs before. One general rule to remember when discussing modifications: if you're talking custom, you're talking money.

Not to mention the trial and error that would go into perfecting the tune. Reliability would be less than average and Ford motors aren't exactly robust. You're talking about a project that would easily cost more than the car to do. Not worth it.
