Replace engine and trans in a 2001 Chrysler T&C with 200k miles?

Am I stupid for putting an engine and transmission in a 200k miles, 2001 Chrysler Town and Country?

I bought it used 7 years ago. The radiator, A/C compressor, starter, and water pump has been replaced. No rust issues (They don't salt Florida roads). The transmission slips and the engine died. I was quoted $11k for a remanufactured engine and transmission (it's what I want but my mechanic can't find used ones anyway). If I do this, will it mostly "future proof" my van for the next 10 years of major repairs?

I don't mind paying 11k if I think it's going to extend a lot of life in the van vs spending 5k for something that could be a ticking time bomb.  P.S. {black}:tears: I know Scotty hates Chrysler and minivans 🙁

The 3.3 and 3.8 engines used in those vehicles rarely have issues. Have a second opinion on the engine lookover. As far as the transmission goes, the 40TE and 41TE are not as bad as you think. I seen some issues with the electronics but it's not the worst transmission of all time. I still have my 04 that I got almost 3 years ago and it is still running smooth at 145k miles. If you plan on replacing the transmission, make sure it's a remanufactured one. Don't replace the motor just yet- it could be something else that won't require a replacement.

There's no way I would put $11K into a 21-year-old Chrysler minivan that probably has a book value of about $500.
