I'm looking forward in the future for a simple unique daily driver I can take to hs and have concluded that a 240SX coupe manual seems like a reasonable choice. Any thoughts on this? I do not plan on heavily modifying it as that is not my original intent.

Everyone bangs up their first car a few times so you want something solid. Since it won't be long for this world try for a used cop car at auction, just make sure nothing major needs replacement unless it comes with a known good part.
As for body damage, like I said, you're gonna bang it up so ugly doesn't matter as long as it runs reliably.
