Few weeks ago Scotty uploaded a video talking about ATS 505 CRO Oil Treatment on a VW engine that can loosen up the sludge from stuck piston oil rings that could potentially help with oil burning problem. Does anyone have experience with ATS 505 CRO? Wondering whether Scotty is gonna upload a video showing the result from that experiment.

  • Today I used ATS 505 CRO engine oil treament to clean the engine in on my 2001 toyota corrola. I used the product as what the instructions on the back of the bottle said to do. Then I drained the oil and replaced with fresh oil and put a new oil filter on. Afterwards I started up the car to drive home and the check engine light came on. What could have caused the check engine light to come on?

Probably all the carbon coming out may have caused misfires causing the code. Use a code reader to check or remove the battery for 10 minutes and see if comes back. Other alternatives: clogging the cat, evap code issues these cars often had.

Any chance of getting this product in Canada.  I have a 2012 rav4 with 385k burning oil ~ big time.

I used ats cro 505 oil treatment in my 2001 toyota corrola. After using it per what the bottle said. The check engine light came on. The code was P0301. Cylinder 1 misfire. So I took it to the repair shop and they diagnosed it and said the spark plugs were all gummed up. Got new spark plugs and the check engine light turned off. Then a few days later check engine light came back on. Now code P0300 showed up multiple engine misfire. So took it back to the shop and they said there was 2 failing fuel injectors. So I replaced with all 4 new fuel injectors. Then I reset for the check engine light would go off. Then a few days later check engine light came on again displaying same code P03001.

Any ideas on what can be causing this to happen?

Hi Scotty thank you for all your help! Been watching your videos for 5+ years.

i have a 07lexus is250 automatic with 85k miles and I loose a Quart of oil every 1,000 miles or so. Since my car is GDI engine I saw your video about the ats505cro and want to try it but I remember you always say don’t flush your engine because it might make it loose more oil later on. What would you recommend I also have done crc to remove deposits last month also.

thank you!

Sadly Michael you're not alone. A DuckDuckGo of oil burning and the 250 is turns up a lot of complaints. There's several recalls on 2006-2008 Toyotas and several service bulletins on 2009-2012 for oil consumption. In the same boat as you with our 2011 Rav-4 - going to change the PCV and do the ats505 in 1,000 miles. It has 115k and burned through 3 quarts last change cycle.

Hey Scotty, Do you know of any retail chain store or on-line stores that have the ATS 5050 Kit in stock? I have had an order with ATS themselves for going on 8 weeks. Now they are telling me another two weeks. Problem is they have already charged my account with original order. If you know an outlet that would have it stock please let me know. I guess your recommendation has made it very popular

Hi All,

I saw Scotty run ATS 505 CRO through a motor on one of his videos to try and prevent a car from continuing to burn oil. My Scion is burning oil and I thought I'd give that a try. TWO QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP: 1. Is there something just as good as 505 CRO that people would recommend? I can't seem to find it anywhere online. 2. I've read a few things on here that would suggest that this oil treatment could make things worse. How do I now if it's worth giving it a shot. Trying to make the decision if I should just keep feeding the beast oil or try one of these oil treatments. Thanks for your time in advance.

Hey Scotty, you mentioned in one of your videos the name of the engine oil treatment that flushes out the dirt in the engine. What is the name of that product? I couldn't catch the name.

Scotty,

I have a 2008 Chevy 2500HD 6.0 liter with 128,000 miles on it. I would like to use the 505 oil additive but don't want to loosen too much sludge from the engine.

Is it safe to use it?

Is Royal Purple 5 w 30 good oil to use?

2011 Toyota Venza 4 cyl auto, just turning 80,000 miles. No Problems, runs fine, not burning oil. So my question is more about preventative maintenance. Should I go ahead and add "505 CRF & 505 CRO"?

When I do 100k mile maintenance to my 2013 Honda Accord 4cly, should I go ahead and use the ATS 505 oil and fuel additives as a preventative maintenance.  There are no engine or fuel issues currently.

Being 10 years old. Heck I'd use each one once

2012 Volvo S60 T5 (2.5L 5 cylinder) oil consumption - will I benefit from ATS 505 CRO oil additiveBought at 20K miles from Volvo. Meticulous maintenance. Now at 113K and using oil depending on how I drive.  Highway cruising on new oil = little or no oil use.  Local driving (with turbo use) adding 1/2 qt every few hundred miles.  I know there is a class action lawsuit on this.  Volvo's solution per service bulletin TJ29871 is to install new rings.  I assume the oil ring design is changed to eliminate the problem.  Since I'm not going to do the expensive ring change, is it possible that I would benefit from trying the ATS 505 CRO oil additive to clean out the carbon-clogged rings?

A Volvo oil consumption class action lawsuit alleges a piston ring recall should have already been issued for Volvo vehicles equipped with 2.0L 4-cylinder or 2.5L 5-cylinders engines.

Those engines are allegedly defective because of the pistons, piston rings and/or piston heads. The oil consumption class action alleges the piston rings cannot clear engine oil from the side of the cylinder walls during the downstroke.

Is Bernie(?) still in business? The website is up but you cant by any products like CRF and CRO as are unavailable, out of stock, back-odered etc  I'm using the Moly flush  this time as I have had to wait an entire oil change and no ATS. There is a site "Pelikan Parts" that said they sold it. I ordered it..it said "In stock-usually ships inn 2 weeks"  Why does it take 2 weeks to put something in a box? Such a dummy some days {black}:serious:

Hi Scotty! I have a ‘95 Mazda MPV, with 348k miles on it. It’s really burning oil a lot now, which has become a problem recently. Lifters tapped on start up. I’ve been using 10W30 blend since I couldn’t get Mobil Hi-Mileage conventional for it anymore. I was wondering if the 505CRO & 505CRF would help it, or only make it worse? What do you think? Is it worth a try?  Parents bought it new, then bro’s gf had it then I got it.  We kept it in the family, my bro did the maintenance on it.

Where can I purchase just 1 bottle of the 505 CRF Fuel Cleaner from ATS Chemical?  The Website sell either a 12 Pack ( Too Expensive for me ) or with the 505 CRO Oil Treatment.  I just want the Fuel Cleaner.  Anyone have a sell other than the company Website?

Howdy from Wyoming. I saw your video on the ATS Carbon Clean. I just bought a 2007 CRV with 184K. It sounds and drives like the one I bought new in 2010. Would it hurt anything to run their products in my new used vehicle?

Does anyone know where I could buy one (1) bottle of ATS' fuel system treatment?

I can only find it by the case - $300, or combined with the engine oil treatment.

I have a 1995 Toyota Corolla Wagon automatic transmission with 165,000 miles and thinking of using 505CRO. I saw Scotty in the video about the product but I've also seen him say not to use an engine flush, so now I'm concerned about using it. What's the difference between 505CRO and other engine flushes that can damage an engine? Thank you for your time

I don't have facilities to change my own oil, so I'll be taking it to a shop. How seriously should I take the instructions about not driving the car with ATS 505 CRO additive in it? I'm not sure that they will let me take up 15 minutes idling in their repair bay while the additive runs its course (when I'm sure they'd rather charge me to use whatever stuff they sell). Was thinking I could run it in their parking lot and then just have to drive it into the bay. Just curious if anyone knows how dangerous it is to drive it a few dozen feet and why we're not supposed to drive it? Thanks for your thoughts!

Add in the oil treatment outside or back it out of the bay to a spot outside where you can "continue cleaning". Driving a few feet isn't going to hurt anything.

Thanks, Hixster!

Looking to buy a couple of cans of the ATS 505CRF fuel system cleaner. I checked the ATS website and they only sell it by the case for $300.  Any suggestions where one can get a few cans?
